Services

CDP are able to offer a full range of MEP services with the belief that the right design with the right decisions will avoid problems later on in the construction phase. Therefore we work tirelessly with our design partners to agree co-ordinated concepts and space planning to ensure design decisions are fully agreed prior to the construction stage.

With our experiences there are no projects that we cannot tackle, but we will be honest with you from the outset.

Although we traditionally work for contractors we also carry out Mechanical & Electrical projects for end user Clients and Architects where the team require a more traditional package with control over the M&E designs.

See below for a full list of services we offer.

MEP Utilities Icon

MEP Utilities

CDP are able to provide physical impact assessments, load analysis and record analysis.

CDP have experience in providing utility design for a variety of projects, from individual housing, large residential schemes, industrial units, commercial units. We are able to provide designs and applications to the utility companies to obtain quotations for new connections, upgrades and disconnections of utilities.

We work with MEP engineers and sustainability teams to establish loading analysis to ensure all aspects of water, gas, electricity, telecoms and energy services are covered.

Mechanical, Electrical & Public Health Design

We are able to offer a comprehensive consultancy service, ranging from feasibility studies, initial planning and cost advice through to detailed design work and thermal modelling. Our aim is to provide energy efficient, cost effective, functional, maintenance friendly building designs in close alignment with our client's expectations.

Sustainability Icon

Sustainability Part L

We have the capability in house to provide full thermal modelling, SAP/SBEM assessments and all other compliance requirements to deliver supporting documents for submission to Building Control to demonstrate compliance with the current Building Regulations.

Support documentation and calculations can be provided to comply with BREEAM requirements as well as Overheating Studies and Natural Ventilation.

Performance Icon

Performance Duties

We have a high level of experience in delivering performance specifications/drawings to allow D&B contractors to provide cost certainty and full design approval. Our belief is that these documents should be clear and concise to ensure the project objectives are fulfilled throughout all stages of the build.

Performance Icon

BIM

We have the in house ability to apply BIM/REVIT across all projects allowing co-ordinated integration with all of our design partners. Utilising clash detection functions we can reduce the impact of site co-ordination at the design development stage.

Feasibility Icon

Feasibility Surveys

CDP can provide a broad knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical services, and are able to utilise these skills to carry out studies for plant replacement projects, condition surveys and technical assessments for all types of buildings.

Conditions Icon

Condition Surveys

Surveys can provide the most accurate and up to date knowledge available prior to the initiation of a project.  CDP are able to carry out all types of survey to establish the condition, age, life expectancy and cost of any repair or replacement of a building’s engineering services. We are happy to discuss the exact nature of the survey required and tailor the survey and final report to suit.

AV Icon

AV

CDP are able to offer all aspects of design associated with Audio Visual Design including acoustics, audio-visual, security and CCTV systems along with access control.

Energy Icon

Energy

CDP can provide a full Building Regulations Part L design service which can assist the design team on the building design to ensure the most cost-effective method to achieve building regulations compliance. Calculations include SBEM (Level 3, 4, and 5) and BRUKL reports.

Full Detailed Design Icon

Full Detailed Design

Our team of mechanical, electrical and public health engineers are able to offer a fully integrated co-ordinated design service.

We have worked on new build, refurbishment and infrastructure projects of all sizes delivering sustainable, affordable, well-designed building services across all sectors.

We are skilled in the delivery of all stages of the design process from initial concept through to detailed design and construction stage support.

Our engineers have a broad knowledge and experience of conventional solutions, as well as fresh thinking on alternative solutions to provide comfortable, functional environments.

Lighting Design Icon

Lighting Design

We believe lighting design is a key component of each project: from planning and performance, to visual appreciation and health & wellbeing. Both natural and artificial lighting - can make or break a space, as without lighting the space will not be fully functional.

Our experienced designers believe in maximising natural daylight and believe this free and natural source of light should be utilised to improve the buildings environment.

External lighting has become more prolific due to glare, sky glow, light encroachment and light trespass that poor design can cause. CDP are able to carry out full assessments and can provide solutions to minimise these impacts.

Low Carbon Icon

Low Carbon

CDP understands the role we can play in reducing energy and are passionate about delivering sustainable and low energy building services solutions.

We are fully accredited commercial building Energy Assessors with the Building Research Establishment and registered with CIBSE as CIBSE Low Carbon Consultants and Energy Assessors. We also provide Energy Performance Certification and BREEAM Assessment from design stage to post construction review and formal certification.

Early project involvement enables us to provide valuable input at the concept design stage with regard to building envelope, orientation and integration of renewable energy technologies.

Thermal Modelling Icon

Thermal Modelling

We are able to study and model how heat, air movement, cooling, climate and light will disperse and effect the building envelope.

• Optimise orientation
• Maximise passive ventilation
• Control solar gain
• Exploit thermal mass
• Improve façade performance
• Increase natural daylighting
• Carbon reduction

Overall, we are aiming to influence the final building design to optimise the internal environment for occupants and reduce energy.

Swimming Pool Icon

Swimming Pool

Swimming pools and spas require specialist engineering design.  CDP have experience in the design of domestic swimming pools and commercial pools.

We understand the importance of involving the entire design team in the construction of the pool’s infrastructure and space for housing filtration, dehumidification and heating plant/equipment.

Each pool is specific, and we would welcome the opportunity to discuss through your requirements.
